Tyler Anderson

Tyler Anderson, AqP, CCISM, CTSS, President of the International Lifeguard Critical Incident Response Alliance, has served on and led multiple Critical Incident Response Teams over the last 20 years. He currently serves on the American Airlines CIRT, managing trauma interventions for crewmembers; he also serves as an Employee Assistance Representative. He understands first-hand how effective Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) teams can help companies across industries prepare for and navigate the complex nature of critical incidents. Anderson, noticing a gap in the field, seeks to bring the CISM standard of care for other first responder communities to lifeguards in beach, pool and waterpark environments. Anderson has over 25 years of experience in the aquatics, corporate emergency management and business continuity planning industries. His experience as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Instructor spans multiple organizations including: Six Flags Theme Parks, The American Red Cross, YMCAs, Goldfish Swim Schools, and multiple pool management companies. He is a Certified Pool Inspector (CPI) with the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and is a Designated Aquatic Professional (AqP) with the Association of Aquatic Professionals. Anderson is credentialed in Critical Incident Stress Management (CCISM) from University of Maryland, Baltimore and is an Instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. He is a Certified Trauma Services Specialist (CTSS) with the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. He also leads the business emergency planning program, Ready Rating, for the American Red Cross Connecticut & Rhode Island Region. He also serves as the American Red Cross National Transportation Safety Board Liaison; helping to ensure victims and families of victims of mass casualty transportation disasters in the region receive compassionate care that is consistent with federal guidelines.
