Carol Flemming attended University of California, Santa Cruz, and designed opera costumes. She opened her own costume shop in 1972, making turn of the century hats. Her costume shop became a mascot design company, which provides mascots to consumers all over the US. Fleming’s company was the first mascot company with a colored catalog, first to put hard soles on mascot shoes and first to put cooling helmets in mascot heads. She has owned three restaurants, published two books and has six grown children. Flemming loves to travel, garden, dance and does yoga. She has fifty-two years in the mascot business and has no desire to retire.
