Avery Wheelock has an extensive background in amusement rides operation maintenance and inspections, having owned a carnival that traveled the eastern seaboard for many years. In 2007, he sold his equipment and formed ALW Consulting Inc., providing Amusement Consulting Services and Non-Destructive Testing. And in 2008 started performing inspections for various inspection companies as a sub-contractor. During this time as a safety consultant, he became familiar with waterpark inspections and certification inspections in several states and in different countries in North America. These were large waterparks owned by a large corporation with parks in Canada, USA and Mexico. For years, Wheelock performed inspection services for various companies and insurance companies as a risk consultant. And, through the years became certified by NAARSO as a Level III inspector and Level Ride Operator. He also became certified by AIMS Intl. as an Amusement Inspector Level II, maintenance mechanic Level II, Ride Operator Level II, Aquatics and CPO. In 2018, Wheelock was appointed to the NAARSO Education Committee and the Certification Committee after many years of being active instructing at the Annual Safety Seminar. 2018 also marked the formation of Worldwide Safety Group Inc. At the 2019 NAARSO annual Safety Seminar he was named the “2018 Man of the Year”. In 2023, Worldwide Safety Group President Wheelock was awarded the NAARSO Instructor of the year award at the 2023 safety seminar. Wheelock is the NAARSO primary classes overseer and organizes the schedule and instructs several of the primary classes for beginning inspectors. As President of Worldwide Safety Group Inc., he and his team of associates have performed numerous complete waterpark facility inspections throughout the United States, and they continue adding more facilities to their client base.
